Viento de Washoe
(DG
Viento x Egyptian Sugar by AN Monsanto) has won the 2006 US National Championship
in Sport Horse Hunter Hack! Owned/trained by Kim Schnackenberg, ridden/
trained by Morgan Carr, this 50% Spanish-related stallion, was purchased
as a 2month old colt in 1993 by Kim Schnackenberg. Kim started him
in dressage and took him to third level. Viento de Washoe (aka "Beau")
was then switched to the discipline of Western riding. He has experience
in a variety of disciplines, |
ranging from Reining, trail riding,
Western Pleasure, and dressage to driving the Schnackenberg's wedding carriage!
In January of 2005, Kim discovered
that Beau could jump. She felt she was too tall to show him, so engaged
a smaller rider who was also a junior. After qualifying at an A show,
he went to Regionals and won two Championships, in Working Hunter ATR and
Hunter Hack.
Beau's junior rider went off
to school in 2006, Kim engaged the services of Morgan Carr, the head trainer
at Donida Farms, Auburn, WA and the rest is history! Watch for more
great things from this versatile stallion in the future.
And now more good news .
. .
The United States Equestrian
Federation named "Beau" the 2006 Farnam/Platform – USEF Horse of the Year
Region 5 CHAMPION, Arabian Specialty AND Farnam/Platform – USEF Horse of
the Year Region 5 CHAMPION, Arabian Hunter/Jumper! Congratulations

| At 18 years of
age, CA Hermoso (CA Acierto x Challendon Flame by Jdar Bari Brita)
came out of retirement to win the Western Pleasure Championship ATR at
Scottsdale in 2006. He is shown here after the win with Jill, his

His trainer, Bill Porcher,

ever ridden him. Even at this age he out-moved all the horses in
the class and gave a stellar performance. Jill had only ridden him
a few times previous to his qualifying class (which he also won).
Hermoso is a National Champion

|
He was Region 1 and Region 7 Champion

From the XP Riders Newsletter,
April 2006, "Granite Chief has won the Ed Johnson Memorial Award for the
second year in a row. This award is presented to the outstanding XP Horse
of the Year. Granite Chief has been our top mileage horse for two
years in a row and is still going strong. He may be relieved however
to find that Karen is now starting his full brother on the trail.
If his younger brother proves himself as durable as Chief, their breeder
may be the first to offer a 5-year/50,000 mile warranty on a horse."
