(Jacio x Alhaja) 1975 grey stallion
443 Progeny "Imported in 1976 by Jay Stream after SAMIR
(as registered in Spain) had won first in yearlings at the 1976 Spanish
Nationals. Gifted to Wayne Newton by the Streams as a 3 year old, *GG SAMIR
was used on *ARAMUS daughters to produce the Spanish/Polish cross which
has much success in the performance ring. Sire of only 56 Classical Spanish
foals, *GG SAMIR had 443 get and 1336 grandget. *GG SAMIR was the leading
living Spanish sire of champions until his death, and is still the all-time
leading Spanish sire of champions, with 123 champions, 24 National winners
and 20 producers of National winners, predominately in Western Pleasure
and Driving. Both his Spanish-Related son WN Knight Rider+// and grandson
CA Hermoso ++/ are just two of the many National level winners. By selective
breeding, the straight shoulder, short upright pasterns, and camped out
hind legs which occassionally appear from this sire line can be bred out.
The excellent head type with broad forehead and very large dark, kind eye
has been especially credited to this line, making it very popular in the
Halter ring. His dam ALHAJA is a paternal sister to *SABIDURIA, dam of
3 National winners including Canadian Res.Nat.Champion Mare WN MI KERIDA
+. Deceased 1996."
